Curriculum

 

 

After her diploma for classical guitar studies at the “Benedetto Marcello” Conservatory in Venice she studied composition under the guidance of Maestro. W. Dalla Vecchia and orchestra conducting with Maestro Ludmil Descev, the resident conductor of the Opera House in Sofia (Bulgaria), obtaining her diploma with an honourable mention.

Following that she perfected her direction of the opera repertory at the Musical Academy of Pescara under the guidance of Maestro U. Cattini and took the masterclass held by Piero Bellugi as part of the “Ferrazzano Festival” in the Molise Region and also the masterclasses of Sofia, Shumen and Plovdiv in Bulgaria.

After successfully conducting the major orchestras in Bulgaria, since 1995 she has been the main visiting conductor of the “Shumen State Symphony Orchestra” in Shumen (Bulgaria).

 

Among the numerous orchestras she has conducted in Italy and abroad can be listed the “Nuova Scarletti” of Naples, the Neapolitan soloists of the San Carlo Opera House in Naples, the Sofia Chamber Orchestra, the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Bern Chamber Orchestra in Switzerland, the Burgas Symphony Orchestra, the Carlova Opera House orchestra and the Plovdiv and Shumen Philharmonic in Bulgaria; the Piemontese Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Verona Philharmonic Theatre orchestra and the Lecce Symphony Orchestra.

She has recorded concerts for a T.V. series on the second state channel (Rai 2) called “Palcoscenico” (“Theatre”) and for the programme “Donne in Musica” (“Women in Music”) on Rai 3.

She was a participant in the international competition “Dino Nicolescu” which took place in Bienne (Switzerland) in 1996 and she qualified first absolute on a European level.

 

 

She was the Artistic Director for two editions of the International Festival of Lazise (province of Verona) where, in the first edition she also conducted “The Barber of Seville” and “Cavalleria Rusticana” as a concert and in the second edition Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony with the orchestra and chorus of the Verona Philharmonic.

She is the president and Artistic Director of the cultural association “Italian Ensemble” which is in Mestre (Venice) and with the orchestra of the association has given numerous concerts in the major theatres and opera houses, among which the Venetian “La Fenice” the Chiabrera Theatre of Savona and the Rai T.V. auditorium in Turin.

She has a wide repertory which includes operas, religious music, symphonies, chamber music, oratorios etc.

She has made various recordings for the record label “Kicco Classic” of Milan (distributed by Nuova Carish), among these Mozart’s Orchestrated Symphony for Violin and Viola; “Nuttata e sentimento” with Katia Ricciarelli from the “Settembre al Borgo” Festival at the Caserta Palace; “Bachiana Brasileiras” by H.Villa Lobos performed by Jolanda Aujanet; divertimenti e serenatas for string instruments by Mozart, Suk and Grieg with the Sofia Chamber Orchestra; arias for tenors taken from all Mascagni’s operas with the Piemontese Youth Symphony Orchestra; Stravinski’s comic opera “Mavra” interpreted by Gianluca Terranova and Giovanna Gomiero with the Venetian Opera House symphony orchestra.

In collaboration with “La Fenice Opera House” in Venice and the Venetian Department of Culture she has set up a University Opera Workshop in order to divulge, by staging a series of productions, knowledge of some of the main periods of Italian theatre music (opera, ballet, etc.) from the classical age to the present.

With the “Opera Workshop” she produced Stravinski’s comic opera “Mavra” directed by Enrico Pastore; in March 2003 in the Palafenice she staged a performance with music by A. Buzzolla and N.Coccon (eighteenth century) found in the Cappella Marciana collection in St. Mark’s.

She teaches choral singing and orchestral laboratory at the Liceo Classico “R.Franchetti” (senior high school specializing in classical studies) in Mestre.

She is an active member of the board of directors of the Centro Studi Mascagnani in Leghorn.
